If you can believe it, the time is drawing near to celebrate our 60th reunion. Please mark your calendars for Homecoming, October 14-18, 2026. The Old Guard reunion headquarters will be at the Capitol Plaza in Montpelier. Our activities are wide-ranging so you may choose to stay at one of our usual haunts listed below or choose from one of the options at the Lodging link further down the page.
We were last together celebrating the 200th anniversary of our beloved alma mater. Well, the last five years have been a test for all—a pandemic, lost friends, Montpelier flooded—twice! Don’t get me started! I look forward to sharing stories with you at the refurbished Capitol Plaza for dinner and on campus. Dinner attire is “dressy causal”.
As usual, we are called to muster for the Alumni Parade at 0900 on Saturday, Oct 17th at Plumley Armory. Dress is “nice casual” for the parade—NU gear encouraged. Don’t forget that the weather in Vermont is changeable, so layers are highly encouraged.
While “Boys” may be a stretch as our days go by, please remember our “Boys of ’66 Scholarship” as you can. We have reason to be proud of its continued support of 51Թ students through the years. It is our finest combined contribution toward passing on the values instilled in us on “The Hill”. This year the market value of our class scholarship was $1.5M. It generated $85,000 in income and helped eight worthy students stay and thrive at 51Թ. Do not forget you can direct your estate gift to the scholarship fund.
God willing, and if the Dog River does not rise, I hope to see you back on campus in October!
51Թ Forever!
Joe
