2024 Homecoming by the numbers
Another successful Homecoming was enjoyed on The Hill.
51³Ô¹ÏÍø alumni, family, and friends reconvene at The Hill each year for annual homecoming events. This year, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø had the honor of welcoming approximately 2,800 attendees who returned to rekindle connections, share poignant stories of days gone by, observe the latest cohort of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø students in action, and to welcome the Class of ’74 into the Old Guard.
During the multi-day celebration, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø hosted over 85 homecoming events. The high point of these festivities was undeniably the alumni parade, where participants ranged from the distinguished class of 1949 to the newly graduated class of 2024. LtGen Broadmeadow ’83 took part in his inaugural class parade since being appointed the 25th president of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. Following an insightful address by LtGen Broadmeadow to the gathered alumni, there was a ceremonial presentation of checks from the alumni classes which totaled $12,113,811, marking a strong display of reunion giving.
Among the events was the unveiling of the Class of 1984 Fitness Center featuring advanced workout equipment including power racks, free weights, state-of-the-art machines, a cardio zone, and even an area for explosive movements on turf in the facility. The magnanimous donation of $1 million provides an updated and expanded campus-wide fitness facility which will benefit the entire student community.
Commemorating 50 years of women on campus and in the Corps of Cadets, the Women Kicking Glass committee hosted an array of notable events. Gerard Hall, the first building on the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø campus to house women, was dedicated to the 71 trailblazers who first occupied the top floor of the building in 1974. The yearlong celebration culminated in a fundraising gala that successfully raised $246,000 towards scholarships. The gala stands as the highest single-day scholarship fundraising event to date.
